Radboudumc pushes for specialized pediatric trauma care

Radboudumc is launching a Center of Expertise for Child Trauma and Burn Care. The center will provide special care for children with severe injuries and their effects on the child and family. The center aims to change the structure of existing trauma care. The kickoff was on April 19 with the Day of the Bicycle Helmet. The Center of Expertise brings together all the disciplines needed for proper care for children in cases of serious injury. The team consists of healthcare professionals specialized in pediatric (trauma) surgery, pediatric anesthesia, pediatric psychology and pediatric intensive care. In addition to this care, a team is also readily available to provide psychosocial assistance to child and parents in such an often life-changing situation. Read more (in Dutch): https://ap.lc/2y17T
