One of the initiators of MindAffect is Peter Desain, professor artificial intelligence at Radboud University: "Our invention enables tracking of the direction people are looking at, by measuring brain activity. This activity is translated to a computer that forms letters and words. This way our technology can help people speak again, whether they suffer from ALS or experienced a cerebral infarct."
Now a group of venture capitalists have invested one million euros in the ALS-start-up. Ivo de la Rive Box, director at MindAffect, is proud of the investment: "We are proud that we gained trust from so many different parties in the market. It helps us further developing our technology to a product for people who lost their ability to communicate."
