The East Netherlands Development Agency (Oost NL) support innovative entrepreneurs in Gelderland and Overijssel who work on change, on solutions to societal challenges.
March 22 has been declared World Water Day by the United Nations, a day dedicated to raising awareness about national and global water issues. The theme of 2023 is 'accelerating change': accelerating change. A theme that is close to our hearts.
Oost NL supports innovative entrepreneurs, like Zereau BV based in Nijmegen, who developed a toilet filter system that captures 99.99% of the radioactivity excreted by cancer patients. New cancer therapies use radioactive nuclides. Patients excrete the radioactivity shortly after treatment through their urine and feces. This will lead to a rapid increase in radioactivity in wastewater and sewer systems from hospitals. Zereau's system prevents pharmaceutical contamination from entering the environment.
Zereau used a 'growth voucher' from the De Groeiversneller programme. With growth vouchers, Eastern Dutch SMEs can hire external expertise.
