Artificial Intelligence can help radiologists to analyze X-rays of the lungs, according to an initial study by the Jeroen Bosch Hospital, Radboudumc and Bernhoven published in the scientific journal Radiology.

The study

AI software is as good at predicting whether there are lung abnormalities on X-ray lung photos as radiologists. The study used the deep learning AI system CAD4COVID-XRay. That system was developed by the Dutch companies Thirona and Delft Imaging, intended to support healthcare professionals worldwide in the fight against the coronavirus.

The AI ​​system CAD4COVID was trained on 24,678 pictures of healthy lungs, pneumonia, and pneumonia caused by COVID-19 from various hospitals.
