RESEARCH TECHNICIAN Vaccine Research and Development (0,8-1 FTE)
About the role
In this role as research technician, you are primarily responsible for performing laboratory experiments as a crucial part of vaccine research and development projects for poultry. Different areas of expertise are involved, such as virology, immunology, molecular biology, or cell biology.
Your main objective is to plan, organize, execute, and report laboratory experiments. These experiments involve the design, development and validation of procedures and methods, but they may also involve organizing and reporting animal experiments.
You will be participating in a multidisciplinary product development team supervised by the project manager. You work closely with the team of researchers to ensure smooth laboratory operations. You provide the team with the information they need to advance the project and complete the data package needed for the development and registration of the vaccine.
About you
You set high standards for your own performance, you are critical and have attention for detail. You think analytically, draw up an accurate research plans and produce high quality results. You are a team player, able to maintain constructive teamwork and you actively seek input from and provide help to others.
Your profile:
- Bachelor of (Applied) Science (BSc) degree (or equivalent) in virology, immunology, cell biology or similar.
- Relevant experience with virological, immunological and cell biological laboratory techniques is considered a prerequisite.
- In addition, working experience with test development (of assays such as virus titrations on eggs and cells, ELISA, immunofluorescence assays) and assay validation is an advantage.
- Working experience in a research environment is preferred.
- Experience with and proactive approach to quality requirements such as GLP.
- Attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good knowledge of the Dutch and English language orally and in writing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
